HOW WE GOT HERE
They say that the biggest oaks can grow from the smallest acorns…well that’s certainly true for Linden Ruskin. In 1996, working as a Practice Manager for a large surgery, she accepted a project from Wiltshire Health Authority to enable all 92 surgeries to not only comply quickly and easily with Health & Safety legislation but – importantly - keep it up-to-date. The main challenge was in wading through the vast amount of often conflicting ‘stuff’ to find out what really (legally) needed to be done, but the result of her back to basics approach was a simple, comprehensive, step-by-step Pack.

It is also proving of immense value to Partnerships forming new legal groups however large or Managers working informally together to spread the load. Assistance from one of our impartial coaches who can share what solutions others have come up with is an invaluable service we are happy to provide.

THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
Linden Ruskin (or Lindy as she prefers to be more informally known) is celebrating 26 years of promoting her ethos of hassle-free Health & Safety compliance. She is also Chair of the Avon Occupational Safety & Health Group and acts as a mentor and coach for individual surgeries, formal and informal groups of Practices and a variety of Primary Care organisations. She runs regular roadshows to raise awareness that Health & Safety and, in particular Risk Assessment, is not rocket science but can be easily understood and implemented - with a little help and chocolate hobnobs!
